Bino: Dahon Vitesse T20 (2013)

This is a folding bicycle originally meant for basic commuter use.

Since purchase, I have outfitted Bino to grow along with my strengths as a cyclist – at slightly greater cost than expected. Frame joint problems in the past have sidelined him more than I’d like, but he now sports a full 2×10-speed drivetrain and sees duty on short trips around my vicinity.

Why have I called this bike a “T10” or “T20”?

Credit goes to Steve Tan of Hands On Bike for the inspiration. Dahon and Tern have not used the “T” designation for any specification of their bikes, and the letter matches up well with the Shimano Tiagra drivetrain and Alivio Trekking braking hardware, so I figured, why not? The designation describes the bike’s suitability for light touring, as well.
